Store your handmade products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain their freshness and effectiveness. Many natural colorants and scents are UV sensitive and will fade in direct sunlight.

Soap

Our handmade soaps are made from natural oils like olive oil, coconut oil, mango butter, and essential oils for fragrance. We do have some (clearly marked) that are scented with commercial fragrances.

Yes, most of our soaps are formulated for sensitive skin. Cold process soap in general is great for sensitive skin because it is surfactant free. We recommend checking the product description for specific details and ingredients to be sure you are not sensitive to any of the ingredients.

The longevity of our soaps depends on usage and storage conditions. Typically, a bar of soap can last 4-6 weeks with proper care. A bar used for a bathroom sink will last much longer than a shower bar so it also depends on the location and use.

We use only natural and mineral based colorants and most often essential oils to fragrance our soaps. We have some exceptions where we use commercial fragrances, and in those cases, we try to utilize natural origin fragrances wherever possible. Please see ingredients and product descriptions for detailed information about each product, as they are clearly marked.

Because our soaps are created using handmade methods, we do our best to come out with consistent bar weights. The nature and chemical reactions involved in the production of soap using this time-tested method includes the evaporation of water throughout the curing process. Because of this, our bar weights may vary from batch to batch, due to evaporation rates and environmental conditions. We do everything we can to control the environmental conditions and use consistent recipes but we just want you to be aware of this ahead of time. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Lip Balm

Our lip balms are made with natural ingredients like beeswax, mango butter, coconut oil, and essential oils.

Yes, our lip balms are safe for children. However, we recommend supervising young children to prevent ingestion.

Currently, our lip balms do not contain SPF protection. We recommend using an additional SPF product for sun protection.

Our lip balms do not contain nut oils like almond oil, but like most of our other products, they do contain coconut oil. Please check the ingredient list and consult with a healthcare provider if you have severe allergies or if you are unsure about any of the other ingredients in our products. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Personal Care Products

We offer a variety of personal care products, including face and body oils, balms and even a dog balm.

We formulate our products to be gentle and nourishing for all skin types. Our face and body oil line is specifically targeted for several different skin goals including: sensitive, eczema, anti-aging, dark spots and more. For specific concerns, please refer to the product description or consult with us directly.

Many of our products are safe for use during pregnancy, but we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider regarding specific ingredients and their safety. Certain essential oils are unsafe during certain trimesters of pregnancy including sweet orange oil. Some of our products do contain small amounts of sweet orange oil. When it comes to your little one, it might be best to play it safe or stick to a rinse off product, like a soap.

We currently don’t use preservatives, simply because they aren’t necessary in our current product line. All of our products are anhydrous, or free of water. This can be a bit of a “hot button” issue but is necessary to address. Bacteria, fungi, germs etc can’t really grow in oil but they love to grow in water, it is necessary for life and for the proliferation of any living organism. Once water is added to a formula it can give germs a chance to grow and multiply. That is when the addition of a preservative becomes a necessity.

People have gotten infections from unpreserved or improperly preserved formulations. In water-based products, it becomes a necessity for the health and well-being of our customers. The good news is that because of the extreme regulatory and consumer backlash against parabens and other synthetic preservatives, companies have gotten much more creative and have come up with natural-based/nature identical preservatives that are working double duty as preservative agents while providing other benefits to the formula such as hydrating the skin.

We now have many more natural, safer and plant-based options than ever before. For example, here at Plumera, we are working on several water based serums that should be available soon. We are testing multiple safe preservative combinations. One of which is poly epsilon lysine. It is the amino acid lysine repeated over and over in a chain. It is often used as a food preservative and it interrupts the cell wall/membranes of bacteria, rendering them incapacitated. We then pair it with another biologically based preservative from the fermentation of coconut fruit to protect the formula from mold. This combination of preservatives provides further emollient benefits to the formula.

Our subscription service allows you to receive your favorite handmade soaps and personal care products automatically at your chosen frequency. You’ll never have to worry about running out of your favorite items, and you can enjoy convenient auto-delivery straight to your door.

When you subscribe to our service, you select the products you love and choose how often you’d like them delivered (e.g., monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly). We’ll automatically charge your payment method and ship your order based on your chosen delivery schedule. You can easily manage or adjust your subscription at any time.

Yes! You can fully customize your subscription to suit your needs. You can add or remove products, change delivery frequency, skip a shipment, or even pause your subscription whenever needed. Just log in to your account to make adjustments.

It’s easy! Simply select the product you want to subscribe to, choose the “Subscribe” option, and select your desired delivery frequency at checkout. Once you complete your purchase, your subscription will be active.

Absolutely! You can update your delivery frequency at any time by logging into your account and selecting your preferred schedule. Whether you need your products more or less frequently, we’ve got you covered.

Yes, there are no long-term commitments. You can cancel your subscription at any time without penalty by logging into your account. Simply select the “Cancel Subscription” option. Please note, you must cancel prior to your ship date otherwise you will be charged and your product(s) will arrive on schedule. 

We accept all major credit cards and other payment methods such as PayPal. Your payment will be automatically processed before each shipment.

You will receive an email notification prior to each scheduled shipment, so you’ll always know when your products are on the way. You can also track your shipments through your account.

Yes! Our subscription service makes a perfect gift. Simply enter the recipient’s address during checkout, and their favorite products will be auto-shipped to them according to the selected frequency.

No, there is no minimum order. You can subscribe to just one product or multiple items—it’s entirely up to you!

No problem! You can easily skip a shipment by logging into your account and selecting the “Skip Shipment” option for the upcoming order. You’ll still stay subscribed, but you won’t be charged or receive a delivery for that period.

Yes! You can update your shipping address anytime through your account. Just ensure the change is made before your next billing cycle to ensure your products are sent to the correct location.

If an item in your subscription is temporarily out of stock, we will notify you immediately. You can choose to wait until the product is back in stock, swap it with another product, or skip the shipment.
